Frequently Asked Questions
When you purchase from Harbour Time, you can be assured that you are purchasing a watch that has been authenticated and described as accurately as possible. We believe in full disclosure and we will disclose anything that you need to know!
All watches are guaranteed authentic and we stand by the authenticity of all our watches.
Harbour Time is a licenced second hand dealer under the Pawnbrokers and Second-Hand Dealers Act 1996.
Our second hand dealers licence number is 2PS25624.
We generally take a conservative approach when grading the condition of our watches.
However, condition is often subjective so you are encouraged to request additional photos if there is any form of doubt on the condition grading.
Below is a guide on how we grade our watches:
Like New – watch in new condition with possibility of handling marks.
Excellent – watch with light wear (small hairlines and possibly very, very minor dings) upon close inspection.
Very good – watch with visible scratches and very minor dings.
Good – watch with moderate wear and tear consistent with being worn.
Fair/Used – watch with heavy scratches and dents.
Please keep in mind that grading may change commensurate with the age of a watch. For example, we would grade a watch from the 1990s differently to a watch from the 2020s. Hence we encourage you request additional photos to ensure your expectations are met.
We do not operate a physical retail store to keep prices competitive as possible.
We are more than happy to send you additional photos or even take a watch to your watchmaker of choice for authentication (in the Sydney metropolitan area).
Due to time constraints, we do not offer viewings, inspections or ‘try ons’.
If you would like to view a watch, the expectation is that the watch is purchased immediately after viewing.
We would be pleased to send you additional photos to clarify the condition of any watch listed.
We understand this may not work for everyone.
We do not offer consignment services.
However, we would likely be interested in buying your watch outright.
Please reach out if you do have a watch to sell.
